Hi ! I’m Caroline, founder of We Are Not Square (“WANS” for short), it’s a pleasure to meet you.

I believe a home is a canvas to express our personality and celebrate our quirks, and I love helping clients to do just that.

To me, there’s nothing better than feeling truly at home in a space: cozy, happy, and at ease. I started WANS to help friends and family create homes that not only look great but feel right. Our mission is to design spaces that enhance your best qualities, restore your energy, and tell your story. Whether it’s a full renovation, a bold transformation, or a simple styling refresh, we love bringing new design challenges to life.

    1. We start by having a 30-min introductory call (no charge!) to get to know each other

    2. I send you recap notes and a quote

    3. Assuming we decide to work together, we have an official 1 hr kick-off call to create a detailed design brief based on your tastes, planned uses for the space and personality

    4. Client pays small deposit of total to secure project commitment

    5. I send suggestions and ideas for your room(s) design, to ensure we align on the general direction

    6. I send the complete list of recommended products available for purchase in your region, with prices and access links.

  • Renovations come with hundreds of tiny decisions—from doorknobs to grout colours, paint colours, cabinet placement, faucet placement, etc! We help streamline these choices. We work with you to consider how the space will be used and ensure that elements like furniture placement, lighting, and storage solutions are integrated from the start. For kitchen and bathroom renovations, we work closely with architects and contractors to ensure every inch is functional. If needed, we also have our own team of architects and contractors that we highly recommend.
